Sun Microsystems has announced the availability of the third release candidate (RC3) of version 6.7 of NetBeans, its open source Java development environment. NetBeans 6.7 RC3 builds on the first and second release candidates from earlier in the month and focuses on bug fixes, smaller changes and overall API compatibility.

More details about the release can be found in the release notes. NetBeans 6.7 RC3 is available to download and is made available under a dual licence consisting of the Common Development and Distribution Licence (CDDL) v1.0 and the GNU General Public Licence (GPL).

Today, the 18th of June, at midnight is the final deadline for users to provide feedback for the previous NetBeans release candidates through the NetBeans 6.7 Community Acceptance Survey. The survey, part of the Community Acceptance Testing program (NetCAT) for NetBeans, is intended to get feedback from the community on the current quality of the product before its final release in late June.
