Mozilla have announced Firefox Home, an iPhone application which is a read only view of Sync for Firefox (formerly Mozilla Labs Weave). Mozilla, faced with the problem that their technology and philosophy is at odds with Apple's iPhone and App Store, have decided to at least allow iPhone users to see their Firefox bookmarks, history and tabs from their most recent browser session on the desktop. Firefox Home also incorporates a version of Firefox's "Awesome Bar" as a way of quickly looking up web sites.

Firefox Home is part of a broader effort from Mozilla to enable access to Mozilla's synchronisation services on platforms where it's not possible to provide a full browser experience. The application appears to be a more developed version of weaveclient-iphone, the experimental Weave client for the iPhone, which was previewed in February. Firefox Home is not in the Apple App Store yet though, as the developers need to "polish this off and submit it". More details on Firefox Home are available at the project's wiki page. A brief video demonstration can be viewed on YouTube.
