Firefox Sync logo Mozilla has announced the release of maintenance updates for its Firefox Home iPhone application and the Firefox Sync add-on, formerly known as Weave. According to Mozilla's Ragavan Srinivasan, the changes to Firefox Sync and Firefox Home address the top three problems reported by users in the comments in Apple's App Store and the feedback on the Mozilla forums.

Version 1.0.1 of Firefox Home for iPhone features the addition of a new help button on the login page with troubleshooting tips and various performance improvements and includes support for user names with upper case letters. The developers also note that, should a problem occur, the error messages are now more helpful to users. The latest update to Firefox Sync, version 1.4.3, includes fixes for multi-byte characters in passwords, allows an initial sync to be completed while in Private Browsing mode and user interface improvements to display the current sync status.

More details about the updates can be found in a post on the Mozilla Blog. Firefox Home 1.0.1 is available to download (iTunes link) for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices running version 3.1 of Apple's iOS or later. Firefox Sync 1.4.3 is available from the Add-ons for Firefox portal and requires Firefox 3.5 or later and is released under version 1.1 of the Mozilla Public License (MPL). Alternatively, users existing users can update by selecting Tools > Add-ons and clicking Find Updates.
