KnowledgeTree has announced the release of the commercial edition of version 3.7 of its document management software. Released two weeks after the community version, the update includes higher performance, as it is based on the integrated Zend PHP stack, and support for the draft CMIS 0.61 (Content Management Interoperability Services) OASIS standard for greater interoperability with other content management systems. The new version is now supported on Microsoft IIS 6 and 7 running on Windows 2003 and 2008 server. Installers are also available for Linux RPM and DEB packages.

The commercial edition now supports "Instant View", the ability to see a full preview of a document before downloading it. The GPL3 licensed community edition only offers thumbnail images of previews. Other features only in the commercial edition include support for electronic signatures, document shortcuts, Microsoft Office integration and desktop document scanning; details of the differences are included in a comparison matrix. The Community edition is available to download from the Knowledge Tree site and the commercial version is available as a download or online trial.
