Clonezilla Logo Clonezilla developer Steven Shiau has announced the release of version 1.2.6-40 of Clonezilla Live. Clonezilla is an open source clone system (OCS) with features similar to Symantec Ghost Corporate Edition and Partimage, and is designed for hard disk partitioning and cloning.

The latest release of Clonezilla Live is based on the unstable branch of Debian, known as "Sid", from the 6th of November and features upgrades to its underlying GNU / Linux operating system, including the 2.6.32-27 Linux kernel. The developer also notes that "a better mechanism" has been implemented in the ocs-live-run-menu and the ocs-live-restore has been improved. Other changes include version 0.2.16 of the Partclone partition image utility, live-boot and live-config updates, version 4.03 of the Syslinux boot loader collection and various bug fixes.

Further information about the release can be found in the official release announcement. Clonezilla Live 1.2.6-40 is available to download as an ISO image file from SourceForge and is licensed under the GPL.
