SugarCRM Logo Commercial open source specialist SugarCRM has announced that it has added new mobile, global and social capabilities to version 6 of its Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Discussing the announcement, SugarCRM CEO Larry Augustin said, "The latest additions to Sugar 6 complement our growing global user base, and our commitment to offer a great CRM user experience any time, anywhere".

Focusing on mobile, the company has released a new native iPhone application called "Sugar Mobile for iPhone" that allows Sugar 6 users to access and interface with their CRM system. The free iOS app works with Sugar Professional or Sugar Enterprise and is available to download (iTunes link) from Apple's iTunes App Store.

Building on the more than 80 community supported language packs already available, the company has announced the launch of several new certified language packs, including German, French, Russian and Spanish. Additionally, SugarCRM has extended Sugar 6 to include "new and enhanced social management tools". These include a new Twitter Connector to allow users to monitor the Twitter stream of any contact or company and additional email management and communications capabilities, such as integration with Microsoft Outlook 2010 and better support for IMAP email accounts. Support for Google's Chrome web browser has also been added.

Further information can be found in the company's press release. SugarCRM will be holding an online webinar on Tuesday the 17th of November at 9 am PST. Those interested in attending are asked to register for the free event.
