Opsview Logo UK-based commercial open source software vendor Opsera has released version 3.8.0 of its Opsview Enterprise Edition for network, server and application monitoring. According to the company, the latest update to Opsview is up to 75% faster on data collection than Nagios, another popular monitoring application.

Opsview Enterprise 3.8.0 features extended and improved SNMP polling capabilities, SNMP interface monitoring that includes errors and discards as standard, and contact profile improvements. Other changes include better notification capabilities with support for an unlimited number of notification methods and scalability enhancements aimed at easing the migration path away from proprietary solutions, such as Solarwinds. Further information about the performance improvements is available in a post on the Opsview Labs blog.

More details about the release, including a screencast, can be found on the What's new in Opsview Enterprise 3.8.0 page and in the change log. Documentation is provided. A live Online Demo is available for users wanting to test out the enterprise edition of Opsview.
