OSCON 2012 Call for Participation announced
O'Reilly Media has announced that the Call for Participation deadline for next year's OSCON open source convention will be 12 January 2012. Running from 16 to 20 July 2012, the event will, as in previous years, take place in Portland, Oregon. It is expected to attract more than 3,000 attendees including users, developers, hackers, experts and vendors.
The organisers say that they plan to have approximately 400 presenters and are seeking submissions on a range of open source topics. Suggested topics include code quality, data and Java, user experience, open standards and data, best practices, emerging languages, and open source on mobile devices. Proposals can be for forty-minute presentations, panels or group discussions, as well as for three-hour tutorials.
Further information about the event can be found on the official OSCON 2012 web site. For updates, users can also follow @OSCON on Twitter. The 2012 programme will be announced and early registration will open in March 2012.
