The organisers of the forthcoming Python conference, PyCon AU 2011, have put out a call for proposals for the formal presentation tracks. The conference will take place in Australia, at the Sydney Masonic Center, 66 Goulburn Street, Sydney, on 20 and 21 August. The deadline for submissions is 2 May and those accepted will be announced two weeks later.

The announcement states that the subjects for presentation can range "from reports on open source, academic and commercial projects to tutorials and case studies. As long as a presentation is interesting and potentially useful to the Python community, it will be considered for inclusion in the program." The document goes on to give a more detailed list of suggested topics. The conference expects to draw an audience of over 250 Python programming enthusiasts, and is the second to be held in Australia.

Anybody wishing to make a proposal is requested to use the Online Proposal Submission system after first creating an account.
