VMware Logo At VMworld 2010 in San Francisco, virtualisation and cloud infrastructure specialist VMware has presented a cloud platform for developing Java applications. Based on the VMware hypervisor, VMware vFabric combines the Spring Java framework with tc Server (an Apache Tomcat-based application server), a load balancer, messaging service RabbitMQ and monitoring service Hyperic.

According to VMware, applications generated using vFabric will be able to run in a number of cloud environments. Red Hat announced a similar product based on its JBoss application server just a few days ago – it supports Spring and other Java frameworks.
