Zend, the PHP company, has announced the release of version 1.8.2 of the open source Zend Framework. The maintenance release includes over 50 bug fixes, details of which can be found in the ZF Issue Tracker. In particular, the developers mention fixes to Zend_Db and improvements in autoloading through changes to the Zend_Loader_Autoloader, which was introduced in version 1.8. All cases where Zend_Loader::loadClass() is hard-coded into the framework have been modified to check for class_exists() first, before triggering the autoloader. The developers say this will make writing custom adapters and plug-ins easier.

More details about the release can be found in the release announcement and change log. Zend Framework 1.8.2 is available to download.
