Zoom The Vivaldi tablet, running Plasma Active
The recently announced Spark Tablet – a 7-inch device that will use KDE's Plasma Active as its default user interface – has had to be renamed because of trademark issues. In a blog post, senior KDE developer Aaron J. Seigo announced that the new name for the device would be "Vivaldi". He said the name was based around "a musical theme that celebrates some of the brightest lights in human history when it comes to making, playing and living interesting lives".

The MakePlayLive site which has been handling pre-orders for the €200 device has already been updated to reflect the new name. The project has stopped taking pre-orders – only sign ups expressing interest – as they reached the initial production run capacity. The Vivaldi tablet is running a single core ARM Cortex A9 chip clocked at 1GHz with 512MB of memory and a 7" touch screen. According to reports, a rebranded Zenithink Android tablet which can has KDE Plasma Active installed on it.
