TheCloudPlayer is a recently launched open source application that takes a different approach to music on the web. It runs on Google's App Engine and pulls its music library from SoundCloud via the SoundCloud API. SoundCloud is a system for the distribution of music, either privately or publicly and TheCloudPlayer plugs into the publicly shared music library, meaning you won't find the latest top ten hits there, but you will find mashups and original compositions.

TheCloudPlayer encourages users to create, collaborate and share playlists created from the SoungCloud content. It has an simple, almost iTunes like styling and has been constructed using jQuery, SoundManger2 and Crystal. It has been open sourced under a BSD like license and can be obtained from its Github repository.
