Version 1.2.0 of the open source Skrooge personal finance manager has been released. The new version includes updates to the Search & Process plugin and adds the ability to Import & Export of non-local files.

To make it easier for users to quickly identify important Units and Categories, these can now be highlighted in Skrooge 1.2.0. A "Show/Hide" menu has been added in the scheduled operations plugin, allowing users to filter out sections where no more payments are expected, as well as in the operations tab.

The "Shares & Indexes" widget has been renamed to "Quotes" and includes an option to select all available Units such as Objectives or Currencies. The developers also note that percentage modes are now available in reports and that the "Incomes & Expenditures" widget is now clickable; doing so takes users to the corresponding operations.

Further information about the release, including a full list of new features and bug fixes, can be found in the announcement blog post. Skrooge 1.2.0 is available to download from the project's site; installation instructions for Ubuntu systems are provided. Built on the KDE Platform 4, Skrooge is part of KDE Extragear office pack and its source code is licensed under the GPLv3.
