The developers of ProjectForge, an open source project management solution, have released version 4.0.0 of their software. ProjectForge is a web application delivered by a Java-based server that provides time tracking, gantt-charting, issue management, financial administration and other project management functions.

The software is designed to be scalable and can be run on a desktop computer for a small team or in a server farm for a big organisation. A demo installation is available for users who want to test the software.

New features in ProjectForge 4.0.0 include a completely redesigned user interface with the ability for users to customise the menus to adapt them to their personal usage patterns. The developers have also added a new plugin that allows users to manage email and conventional mail campaigns, and have updated the project's documentation to explain how to run ProjectForge directly from an Eclipse installation.

ProjectForge can be downloaded from SourceForge and is dual licensed under the GPLv3 and a commercial licence.
