OTRS 2.4 beta 1 help desk system released
Hauke Böttcher, the OTRS director of sales and marketing, has announced the release of the first beta of OTRS (Open source Ticket Request System) version 2.4 (code-named Aitutaki Beach). The open source help desk system includes several improvements and new standard reports. The release also adds the ability to create plug-ins for the management dashboard.
With the new release there is a license change from the GNU General Public License (GPL) to the Affero General Public License v3 (AGPLv3). The APGLv3, often refered to as the network version of the GPL, requires that the complete source code is made available to any network user in a SaaS (Software as a Service) environment.
