Miro 3.5 adds video conversion capabilities
More than six months after the release of 3.0, the Miro developers have issued version 3.5 of their cross-platform open source HD Internet TV / podcast downloader and player. Miro 3.5 is a major update that includes several new features, performance improvements and bug fixes across all platforms.
The latest version of Miro now remembers the previous selected view under Library and features the addition of new video conversion capabilities, including support for Apple's iPad. Users can now cancel all queued auto-downloads and clicking the 'previous' button now shifts to the start of the current file before moving to the start of the previous file with the next click.
Other changes include a new volume slider on Windows and Linux systems, updated language preferences and nearly 200 bug fixes, including several platform-specific issues. At the time of this posting, the developers have yet to make an official announcement about the release
More details about the release can be found in the release notes and on the Miro Features page. Miro 3.5 is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Miro source code is licensed under version 2 of the GNU General Public Licence (GPLv2) and is sponsored by the Participatory Culture Foundation, a non-profit organisation.
