Version 3.6.2 of LibreOffice, which includes over 90 bug fixes, has been released. The bug fixes span a wide gamut of problems from application crashes to improvements to the application suite's grammar checker. On Windows, LibreOffice no longer defaults to creating an icon on the user's desktop when the application is first installed. This behaviour was changed in response to users who had complained that it constituted "desktop pollution". Some inaccuracies with the word count function were also fixed.

In the release announcement, The Document Foundation also calls attention to its second community conference, LiboCon, which will take place in Berlin from 17 to 19 October. Interested parties have until 8 October to register for the event.

More details about the maintenance release are available in the change logs for the development release, 3.6.2.1 and the final version, 3.6.2.2. LibreOffice 3.6.2 is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from the project's download page.
