LibreOffice Logo The Document Foundation (TDF) has released version 3.4.3 of LibreOffice, a maintenance update that addresses a number of bugs in the open source office suite.

According to the project's wiki, the fourth release in the 3.4.x branch of LibreOffice adds no new features; it fixes various issues in the Writer word processor, the Calc spreadsheet program and the Impress presentation manager, as well as bugs in filters and the core libraries. However, the developers say that there are still a few issues in the release, including one rated as "high critical", that will be addressed in version 3.4.4 which is expected to arrive in early October.

In the release announcement, TDF Steering Committee member Italo Vignoli also notes that the LibreOffice community will be hosting this year's Hackfest in Munich together with the city's Linux Migration Project. The event will take place from 2 to 4 September and will focus on "improving the collaboration between TDF and corporate users of LibreOffice".

More details about the update can be found in the release notes, on the 3.4 New Features and Fixes page and in a post on The Document Foundation Blog. LibreOffice 3.4.3 is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from the project's site. LibreOffice source code is licensed under LGPLv3.
