LibreOffice logo The Document Foundation has announced the arrival of version 3.4.4 of LibreOffice. The maintenance update includes fixes for a number of bugs in the open source office suite; no new features have been added.

LibreOffice 3.4.4 addresses several issues that could cause the suite to crash and fixes bugs in the Calc spreadsheet program, the Impress presentation manager and the Writer word processor. According to localisation manager Andras Timar, 3.4.4 also includes a complete Scottish Gaelic UI translation thanks to contributions from Michael Bauer – bringing the total number of native-languages supported to 105. The developers note that 3.4.4 is "bit-for-bit identical" to the second release candidate (RC2) from 3 November, adding that users with 3.4.4 RC2 do not need to download or re-install.

Further information about the update, including a detailed list of fixes, can be found in the release notes and on the 3.4.4 wiki page. LibreOffice 3.4.4 is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from the project's site. Source code for LibreOffice is licensed under the LGPLv3.
