KDE SC 4.4.1 released with various bug fixes

Almost a month after stable release KDE 4.4 SC became available, the developers have fixed various bugs in the Linux desktop and released version 4.4.1. The update is the first of what will be regular "bug fix and translation" updates for the KDE SC 4.4 environment.

The most important improvements affect the KMail standard email client, where users sometimes experienced prolonged delays when sending emails. The developers have also updated the Plasma desktop environment as well as some of the widgets. A whole range of bug fixes affect KDE's Konsole terminal program, which tended to crash in version 4.4, for instance, when resizing a window .

KDE 4.4.1 is currently only available as source code; the usual binary packages for the most important distributions are expected to become available within the next few days. A detailed change log is also available.
