Open source company Red Hat has updated its JBoss Enterprise Middleware portfolio, with JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform moving to version 5.2 and JBoss Operations Network moving to version 3.0. These updates are intended to make it easier for enterprises to publish web content and manage their middleware environments.

Portal Platform 5.2 includes tools to simplify deployment and administration of portal-based applications, new CSS and HTML functions for the theming of portals, and an enhanced Java Content Repository, intended to improve content caching performance. Operations Network 3.0 includes an improved user interface, drift management to manage configuration changes and variances, and automatic execution of provisioning and configuration scripts on a monitoring alert.

JBoss Enterprise software is composed of enterprise versions of the various open source GPL/LGPL licensed projects that are available from Red Hat's JBoss.org. JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform and JBoss Operations Network are available by subscription .
