The real-time operating system and embedded Linux specialist LynuxWorks has released version 3.0 of their LynxSecure safety certified hypervisor for embedded systems. LynxSecure 3.0 has the ability to run fully virtualised guest operating systems simultaneously on the same hardware, each running from it's own secure partition. According to LynuxWorks, LynxSecure is the only operating system designed to support both Common Criteria EAL-7 (Evaluated Assurance Level 7) and DO-178B level A for safety-critical avionics in aircraft.

The 3.0 release includes the addition of para-virtualised 64-bit Linux as a guest OS, flexible scheduling and an enhanced boot loader. LynxSecure is used primarily in aerospace, military and industrial applications.
