The Dimdim developers have released version 5.0 of their open source web conferencing software, Dimdim Pro. Dimdim Pro 5.0 includes new Webinar widgets (Flash Video Demo) that allow one click promotion and registration for web events instead of lengthy Webinar registration forms. The widgets can also be shared on any website, such as Facebook or Twitter. Improvements have been made to screencasting for better performance and security. The viewer has been updated to allow participants to view a presentation in full-screen mode from within their web browser.

Dimdim Pro costs $228 annually for web conferencing with up to 50 participants. An Open Source edition is also available that allows for a maximum of 20 participants and is released under the GNU General Public License v3. The Open Source edition is available to download at no charge for registered users. More details about the release can be found in the what's new section and in the Dimdim press releasePDF.
