ClearOS Enterprise 5.2 released

ClearFoundation logo The ClearFoundation has announced the release of version 5.2 of the enterprise edition of its open source Linux server, network and gateway solution. ClearOS, formerly known as ClarkConnect, is aimed at small businesses and distributed environments, and the latest release includes a number of updates, changes and new features.

ClearOS Enterprise 5.2 is based on the free CentOS 5.5 Red Hat clone and features a custom firewall tool for creating advanced rules, a network traffic analyser for detecting bandwidth issues and improved security via the password policy engine. Other changes include H.323 support for VoIP systems, better storage utilisation through detailed disk usage reporting and improved support for Google Apps and Zarafa in a LDAP Directory.

More details about the release, including information on upgrading from ClarkConnect 4.x and later, can be found in the release notes. ClearOS 5.2 is available to download as an ISO image file from the foundation's site and a User Guide is provided. ClearOS is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv2).
