New Enterprise Edition of Bacula backup software released

Bacula Systems has announced the release of version 2.6 of Bacula Enterprise Edition. According to the Swiss company, the open source network backup and restore solution is specifically aimed at companies with larger IT departments where scalability and reliability are top priority. Support for the Enterprise Edition of Bacula is available on a subscription basis.

Bacula Systems provides commercial support and training for the open source network backup solution Bacula, founded and developed by Kern Sibbald. Bacula runs on Linux, Unix, Windows and Mac OSX and can be used to create and manage backups and recover and verify data across a network of computers. Bacula supports various types of media, such as tape drives and hard drives, and its source code is released under the GNU General Public License version 2 (GPLv2).
