BonitaSoft Logo The BonitaSoft developers have announced the release of version 5.0 of Bonita Open Solution (BOS), their open source business process management (BPM) software. Miguel Valdes Faura, CEO and co-founder of BonitaSoft said that "We’re pleased to be able to offer Bonita Open Solution 5.0 to the Open Source Community today”, adding that "For this new version, we concentrated on making the solution easy to use and included the capability to connect it to external Information Systems in just a few clicks, while still keeping all the powerful functionality our users want".

According to the developers, the latest release of the open source software for BPM has been "completely redesigned" and features a new graphical user interface (GUI). Bonita Open Solution 5.0 supports Business Process Management Notation (BPMN) and includes a wide array of connectors to connect to other common solutions, such as databases from Oracle and Microsoft. Rather than using the "open core" licensing model, BonitaSoft earns revenue through services and support subscriptions.

More details about the release can be found in the release announcement. Bonita Open Solution 5.0 is available to download and a Quick Start GuidePDF is also provided. Bonita Open Solution is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv2).
