Appcelerator Logo Appcelerator Inc has announced the launch of Titanium Studio, the company's integrated development environment (IDE) for building, testing and deploying cross-platform applications. Using the IDE, developers can create mobile, desktop and web apps using web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, Python, Ruby and PHP. Titanium Studio is built on Aptana Studio, an Eclipse-based IDE for building web applications – Appcelerator acquired Aptana in January of this year.

For mobile, Titanium Studio supports iOS, Android and BlackBerry, as well as HTML5 web apps.
It offers a source code editor, code completion, integration with Git and debugging capabilities. In addition to standard HTML5 mobile web apps, Titanium Studio can be used create apps on a number of platforms, including Apple's iOS mobile operating system, Android and BlackBerry, as well as Windows, Mac OS X and Linux on the desktop. According to Appcelerator, the "new Fastdev technology allows a developer to make real-time changes to their code while the app is running in the simulator".

The free community edition of Titanium Studio is released under version 2.0 of the Apache licence. Paid versions for Indie, Professional and Enterprise developers are also available and include "premium software", support and training services.
