The X101 is available in different colours running either MeeGo or Windows

ASUS has announced the latest in its Eee PC range of netbooks – the ultra-thin Eee PC X101 Series – at the Computex trade show in Taiwan. The device is available in two models with a choice of operating systems: Windows 7 or Nokia's MeeGo; choosing the X101 running MeeGo gives the device the low price of $199 (£120).

Equipped with 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, the 17.6 mm thick X101 weighs less than 950 g, comes with a 10.1" screen, and is driven by a single core Intel Atom N435 processor running at 1.33 GHz. The X101 comes with MeeGo installed. The X101H – for which pricing has not yet been released – has a hybrid hard drive and a choice of either MeeGo or Windows 7. The netbooks are available in gold and red, in addition to the usual white of the Eee PC series.
