Microsoft logo Microsoft has announced that it will have seven bundles of patches for installation on the last Patch Tuesday of 2012. The patches will address eleven vulnerabilities in various Microsoft products, with five of the seven bundles rated as critical, allowing for remote code execution, and the remainder rated as important.

Windows users will need to patch their systems regardless, because the bulletins note critical flaws in almost every currently supported version of the Microsoft operating system. This includes the newly released Windows RT, which is affected by critical flaws in IE 10 and in the operating system itself. There are also critical flaws to be fixed in Microsoft Word 2003-2010 and Exchange Server 2003-2010, while the important vulnerabilities that affect Sharepoint Server 2010 and Office Web Apps 2010 will also be secured.
