Zoom WordPress for Android now includes support for QuickPress shortcuts.

After two months of development, the WordPress development team has issued version 1.3.9 of its WordPress for Android app. Using the mobile application, users can easily post to, and edit, their WordPress blogs from an Android mobile device.

The latest version of WordPress for Android 1.3.9 includes support for sharing links to published blog posts with other Android apps and, thanks to contributor Christof Dorner, features the addition of support for QuickPress shortcuts on the Android home screen – users can add a shortcut to the home screen via a long press and selecting 'Shortcuts > QuickPress' and the blog they wish to use. Other changes include Spanish translation updates and various bug fixes.

Further details about the update can be found in a post on the WordPress for Android blog by Dan Roundhill. WordPress for Android 1.3.9 is available to download via the Android Market and supports both WordPress.com and self-hosted blogs, requiring WordPress 2.7 or later.

Like WordPress, WordPress for Android 1.3.9 is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Users interested in contributing to the application are encouraged to do so via the WordPress for Android project developer portal.
