Wine 1.2.2 brings bug fixes
The Wine project development team has released the second point update to the 1.2 branch of its Windows API implementation. Wine (Wine Is Not an Emulator) is free open source software that allows users to run Windows applications on Linux and Unix by providing its own native replacements for Windows DLLs.
According to the developers, the stable branch update includes support for animated cursors, nearly 20 bug fixes and various translation updates. Bug fixes include addressing issues in, for example, Microsoft Office 2007, Internet Explorer, Adobe Reader 9 and uTorrent. All users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version.

Wine 1.2.2 is available to download from one of the project's mirrors and documentation is provided. The latest development branch release of Wine is version 1.3.8 from late November.
Wine source code is available from SourceForge and is licensed under the LGPL. The Wine Project is sponsored by CodeWeavers, which also shares its own code updates with the Project.
