Seventh Libre Graphics Meeting scheduled for Vienna
The seventh annual Libre Graphics Meeting (LGM) will take place this year in Vienna, Austria, from 2 to 5 May. To be held at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum, the meeting is aimed at both developers and users, – artists and enthusiasts – of free and open source graphical software. The intention is to bring all sides of the community together in order to swap ideas, learn best practices, and aid further development of creative software.
The meeting will follow a similar format to previous years, and will include "hacking sessions, meetings, workshops, presentations, demonstrations, and birds-of-a-feather (BOF) sessions". The organisers have invited submissions for talks to be presented at the event. The deadline for submissions is 1 March 2012. Of the various applications and projects represented at the meeting, among the most prominent are Gimp, Inkscape, Blender, Krita, Scribus, Hugin and Open Font Library. A list of the main represented projects is available.
