Red Hat continues to grow

RedHat American Linux distributor Red Hat has reported a total revenue of $183.6 million for its 2010 fiscal year second quarter ending on the 31st of August, 2009 – an increase of over $20 million compared to the same quarter just one year ago. According to the companies second quarter results, subscription revenue for the quarter totalled $156.3 million, an increase of over $20.5 million compared to last year. Sales of training and services was slightly down from last year at $17.5 million.

Net income rose $7.8 million to $28.9 million for the quarter. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company has exceeded analysts' expectations. Since July, Red Hat has been listed on the S&P 500 which is composed of the 500 largest publicly held American companies.
