Novell publishes second quarter figures
Linux distributor Novell has published the financial results of its second fiscal quarter of 2010. Compared to the second quarter of 2009, net revenue fell slightly from $216 million to $204 million. Overall net income came in at $20 million, up from $16 million in the same quarter of last year. Discussing the results, Novell CEO Ron Hovsepian said, "We are experiencing good strategic momentum with the execution of our intelligent workload management strategy".
The "Security, Management and Operating Platforms", which include Linux, divisions had a total net revenue $125.5 million, while Collaboration Solutions came in at $78.4 million both up around $1 million over the previous 2010 quarter. Despite this, Security, Management and Operating Platforms lost nearly $6 million.
