RabbitMQ 2.5.0 adds new tracing facility
The RabbitMQ development team has published version 2.5.0 of its open source enterprise messaging system based on the AMQP specification. According to the developers, RabbitMQ 2.5.0 includes source compatibility with the latest Erlang R14B03 release, and now performs better under high load and memory pressure.
Version 2.5.0 of the Erlang-based enterprise messaging platform offers new command line tool (rabbitmqctl) commands ('report', 'environment', 'cluster_status'), as well as a new tracing facility for debugging incoming and outgoing messages. Other changes include improvements to routing and inbound networking performance. The developers also note that "recovery has been simplified, improving startup times when many exchanges or bindings exist".
Details about the release, including upgrade instructions, can be found in the official release announcement and in the release notes. RabbitMQ 2.5.0 is available to download from the RabbitMQ site and is released under the Mozilla Public Licence (MPL).
