OpenLogic and credativ partner on open source support

US based OpenLogic and UK and Germany based credativ have announced they are forming a partnership to broaden both companies enterprise open source support offerings. Through the partnership, OpenLogic customers will be able to get access to credativ's in-depth third level support, while credativ will be able expand its existing CentOS support to include OpenLogic's certified variant CentOS and its over five hundred associated open source packages.

In September last year, Linux Foundation member credativ announced it was expanding by opening a support centre in the US while OpenLogic launched its enterprise support for CentOS in December 2009. Open Logic's CEO, Steve Grandchamp said the company already served a number of Fortune 500 companies and the deal would strengthen OpenLogic's ability to support these customers in Europe.

The H talked with Chris Halls, MD of credativ UK, who explained that OpenLogic offered first level support in the US and the partnership allowed credativ to provide their more technically complex third level support and expertise to OpenLogic and its customers. This, he says, "benefits open source in general by expanding the support options available". He added that "we still offer third level and beyond, service, directly to customers".
