OTRS 3.0 adds new Ajax-powered GUI

OTRS Logo Following seven betas, OTRS Inc. has released version 3.0 of OTRS (Open source Ticket Request System), the company's open source help desk system. According to OTRS Marketing Manager Sven Dey, the latest stable milestone release represents a new generation of the company's help desk solution.

OTRS 3.0.1 features an enhanced New Ticket dashboard, a more dynamic Ticket Zoom view and a completely redesigned Ajax-powered graphical user interface based on a fully redesigned information architecture. According to the developers, the user experience changes are the result of the company's work with a specialised design agency and user feedback. Other changes include more than 200 bug fixes, the addition of an interactive Global Ticket overview, accessibility compliance changes and various search improvements.

Users upgrading from OTRS 2.4.x are encouraged to read the UPGRADING and INSTALL files prior to installing 3.0.1. OTRS source code is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL).
