No more updates for Python 3.0
The Python developers have announced that there will be no additional maintenance or security update releases for version 3.0 of the Python scripting language. The developers are advising all users to upgrade to Python 3.1, which was released at the end of June.
According to Python developer Barry Warsaw, version 3.1 is now considered to be the "normal" release and will continue to receive updates via Python 3.1.x maintenance releases. Following the release of Python 3.2 in 18 to 24 months, there will be one last 3.1.x release.
