Linux Foundation announces "We're Linux" video contest
Building on the success of its first contest, the Linux Foundation has announced the launch of a second "We're Linux" video contest. The non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting Linux says that videos entered into the contest should demonstrate what Linux means to its users and should inspire others to try it. Amanda McPherson, vice president, marketing and developer programs, said that “We have been inspired by the creativity and level of participation we have seen for the ‘We’re Linux’ video contest and want to provide a forum again this year for people to share".
According to the foundation, submissions should represent what "a 30-60 second Linux-focused spot for the Super Bowl might look like". The foundation, however, does not say that it will actually air the winning commercial during the Super Bowl or at any other time.
Submissions are open until the 4th of April, 2010. The winner will be announced at this year's 4th annual Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit taking place from the 14th to the 16th of April, 2010 in San Francisco, California. The winner will receive a Linux-powered laptop and a free trip to this year's LinuxCon conference, which will take place from the 10th to the 12th of August, 2010 in Boston Massachusetts.
