Ahead of the upcoming Ubuntu 9.10 – "Karmic Koala" the Ubuntu developers have launched the One Hundred Paper Cuts project. The project will focus on improving the user experience for the 9.10 release by "identifying 100 small points of pain for users, or "paper cuts", and healing them". The Canonical Design and User Experience team goal is to channel the necessary resources behind fixing the relatively small and easy to fix bugs that would normally only be focussed on fixing larger issues.

Ubuntu users are invited to submit bugs for the project to work on by logging in to Launchpad and entering a bug report under the "hundredpapercuts" project. The final version of Karmic Koala is scheduled to be released on the 29th of October.
