Fedora Project Leader Robyn Bergeron has announced the start of the voting period for the Fedora 19 release name. The release of Fedora 19 is still far off though as Fedora 18 is now delayed into the new year due to development problems with fedup, the system upgrader, and Anaconda, the system installer. Despite that, Fedora Project contributors are eligible to vote in the selection which runs until the end of 15 November.

Fedora 19 candidate names

  • Cubical Calf
  • Higgs Boson
  • Loch Ness Monster
  • Martian Blueberries
  • Newtonian Dynamics
  • Parabolic Potassium
  • Schrödinger's Cat
  • Tiddalik

Of the numerous name proposals, eight possibilities have been cleared by Red Hat's legal department to follow Fedora 18's Spherical Cow.

As is usual for Fedora's release name voting process, the range voting method is being used. Fedora contributors who have signed the Fedora Project Contributor Agreement (FPCA) and are active in at least one development group can cast their vote on a ballot page using the Fedora Account System.
