Eclipse Summit Europe 2010 program published

Eclipse Logo The Eclipse Foundation has published the program for this year's Eclipse Summit Europe (ESE), which will take place from the 2nd to the 4th of November in Ludwigsburg, Germany. This fifth annual summit will feature several workshops, lectures and demonstrations.

Keynote speakers for the 2010 summit include Hendrik Speck, Professor of Digital Media at the University of Application Sciences, Kaiserslautem, who will talk about his work in media theory, philosophy and open source, and Dr. Jeff Norris of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dr. Norris, who also presented a keynote at this year's EclipseCon conference, will discuss how NASA is using Eclipse for its mission control and operation software.

Dr. Gunter Dück, IBM's Chief Technologist for strategic direction and cultural change, will be the third keynote speaker and will present "The Industrialisation of the Services Sector", which will look at how IT professionals need to change both their working and learning habits. Workshops will include a section on creating a language for Android Apps using Eclipse, the anatomy of an Eclipse 4 (e4) application and mobile development.

Advanced registration is open until the 31st of October; all-access passes cost €500 (£418). On site registration will cost €550 (£460), although Eclipse members, committers and alumni that have previously attended ESE or EclilpseCon will receive a 15% discount. This years sponsors include Microsoft, Oracle, BMW Group, SAP and O'Reilly.
