CollabNet Logo California-based Agile application life cycle management (ALM) specialist CollabNet has acquired vendor Codesion, a company that specialises in software configuration management (SCM) technologies on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) basis. The acquired core product of the same name, formerly called CVSDude, is a cloud variant of the Subversion SCM system that was started by CollabNet and is now hosted by the Apache Software Foundation (ASF). However, Codesion also supports project developments based on Git and other version control systems.

Codesion Codesion is designed to give developers a secure way of hosting and offering their Subversion applications in the cloud. It integrates into such project management tools as Trac and Basecamp and also interacts with TeamForge, CollabNet's Application Management (ALM) technology. Codesion can also be combined with cloud services such as Amazon and Joyent. The two companies did not release any financial details of the take-over.
