Chromium gets a new sharper logo
It appears that Google may be revamping the look of its browser offerings according to a report from CNet's Steven Shankland. A change in the public source code repositories of Google's Chromium browser, the open source base from which it builds Chrome, has seen the shades of blue based logo transform from a slightly three dimensional object into a sharper two dimensional look.
The change was spotted by Peter Beverloo who noted the update to the logo in the repository from Chromium. The update itself has been code reviewed and given an LGTM (Looks Good To Me) by the reviewers. No Chromium build with the new logo is currently available, but it should be in the nightly builds within 24 hours. Google may be waiting though, to see what the general reaction to the new look is before applying it to its own Chrome browser.
