Aptana presents a PHP development environment and a cloud service

Version 1.0 of Aptana's open source PHP development environment is now available to download. Developers can use Aptana PHP to implement features, such as code assist and syntax checking, on PHP, Ajax, JavaScript, HTML and CSS applications. An internal PHP server offers previews of PHP pages in a variety of browser versions, and there are tools for testing and refactoring PHP. The PHP IDE is closely integrated with Aptana Studio, Aptana's Eclipse-based development environment.

Aptana has also brought out Aptana Cloud, a new scalable hosting and application life-cycle management (ALM) service that supports PHP applications and will soon support the editing and distribution of Ruby on Rails applications. This service starts at a price of $0.04 per hour, 60 per cent cheaper than Amazon's comparable EC2.
