Lost+Found icon Too short for news, too good to lose; Lost+Found is a roundup of useful security news. This time: Facebook photo protection fails, learning spammers, all the PIN numbers, 20 years of DEF CON, a world of malware, legal Wi-Fi wiretapping, and a security rock star at Twitter.

  • McAfee's Social Protection, which was developed to solve the unsolvable problem of only allowing people you want to save your Facebook photos, has been found somewhat wanting in effectiveness.

  • And in a spectacular data leak, all the PIN numbers of all the credit cards have been published. Is yours on there?

  • The world is rotten with viruses and malware. Or at least that's the impression you'll be left with if you leave F-Secure's live worldmap running on your desktop.

  • An Illinois Federal Judge has ruled that if a Wi-Fi network is unencrypted then intercepting its traffic is not wiretapping as its publicly readable anyway.

  • Twitter's security crew have a rock star of the security scene joining them on the Tweet boat on Monday as Apple and iOS hacker Charlie Miller starts working with them.
