Fedora 13 In a post on the Fedora Project mailing list, developer Kevin Fenzi has reminded users that Fedora 13 "Rock it" will reach its end of life (EOL) on 24 June 2011. From that date, no new updates, including security updates and critical fixes, will be available. The developers strongly advise all Fedora 13 users to upgrade to Fedora 14 or 15 to continue receiving updates.

Originally released on 25 May 2010, Fedora 13 was based on the 2.6.33 Linux kernel with version 2.30 of the GNOME desktop environment and KDE 4.4.2. It also included a range of technical improvements, such as KMS-based graphics drivers and experimental 3D support in the Nouveau drivers.

The release cycle for the Red Hat sponsored community distribution is usually relatively short, with a new version being released approximately every six months. According to the current Fedora release policy, maintenance for the last-but-one release ends one month after the current major release is made available. In this case the current major release is Fedora 15, code-named "Lovelock", from 24 May.

The project's next major version, Fedora 16 "Verne", is currently in development and is scheduled to be released on 25 October 2011.
