ClamAV Logo The ClamAV developers have released version 0.96.2 of their open source virus scanner toolkit. The latest version of the free cross-platform, anti-virus application addresses a number of bugs found in the previous version, including memory and error path leaks in the libclamav library. Other changes include memory management improvements, better database loading time and various scanning enhancements.

32 and 64-bit (direct download) binaries are available to download for Windows users, though the 64 bit version is still in beta. The ClamWin developers have also updated their free anti-virus program for Windows to version 0.96.2.

More details about the release, including a list of known issues, can be found in the change log and in the upgrade notes. ClamAV 0.96 is available to download for various Linux and Unix distributions from the project's website. ClamAV source code is hosted on SourceForge and is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
