Sony Logo Hackers around the globe appear to be targeting Sony's web servers. Last weekend there were break-ins into Sony HD World's server in Thailand and attacks on various Greek and Indonesian servers, and now Japanese and Canadian servers have become the latest victims of SQL injection attacks; the attackers have gained access to the server databases.

While no personal data was apparently compromised on the Japanese SonyMusic.co.jp server, Sony is reported to have confirmed that the criminals who hacked into Sony Ericsson's Canadian e-shop server (http://ca.eshop.sonyericsson.com) managed to copy 2,000 customer names, email addresses and password hashes. The hacker, thought to be Lebanese, reportedly posted the data to the Pastebin text snippet site, but the site operators are believed to have since deleted the posting.
